Dishcloths again
I bought some scrubby yarn on clearance at Hobby Lobby. Since I was so busy with work, I never got to making anything from it. I finally started working on it. First I started trying to crochet dishcloths with it. That was rather frustrating. I just didn’t like how it worked.
I decided to start trying to knit with the yarn instead, and I found
it easier. I looked for a pattern and settled on the old granny knit dishcloth pattern. The pattern I used was similar to this: https://www.goodknitkisses.com/knit-grandmas-favorite-dishcloth/ (opens in a new tab). I used a mixture of several different patterns, but this was the closest. I only increased it to 45 stitches before starting to decrease stitches. I think they turned out cool. I want to try them, but haven’t had a chance. Blue Start Mothers had a craft fair this weekend and I’ve been rather busy between that and job hunting 😀
One other thing I had bought at one time was a yarn that was a combination of scrubby yarn and cotton yarn. I hated crocheting that yarn as well. The first part was easy, but when it got to the first strip of scrubby yarn, I just fought with it when I tried to do a bobble.
This is what this yarn turned out like. I’ll probably buy more if I decide to sell these instead of giving them away for Christmas. We’ll see what I decide at the end.
